CGB-EAb. Selina MALTBY, b. Mar. 4, 1794 (John 5, Sam.4, Sam.3, Sam.2, Wm.1). m. Nov. 28, 1814, Edwin FOOTE, b. Dec. 2, 1790 d. Feb. 18, 1877; son of Elihu and Lucy (Williams) Foote, of Northford. She d. Sept. 5, 1884 (m. Rec. at Northford). Selina stated that one of the Maltby ancestors at one time owned three ships lying in Branford (?) harbor, (Branford had a harbor. Still shown on the maps F.A.M.), all loaded with cargoes.

Deacon Charles Foote compiled a small genealogy of the Maltby family. This in manuscript was loaned by his widow to my father, George Ellsworth Maltby, with her permission to publish it in the "Maltby-Morehouse Family." This was done with additions at the end by Miss Emily A. Lynes, of Norwolk, Conn., a descendant of Captain Jonathan (4) Maltbie, and a few records of his family by Mr. Maltby.
